Crop production management deals with how farmers combine lands, water, machinery, structures, commercial inputs, labour, and management skills to produce crop and livestock commodities. Production decisions concerning what crops to produce, how much effort and resources to invest, and which physical practices to follow have immediate consequences for the farm and long-term effects on the environment.
The book examines the management of farm businesses; and the conventional and organic production systems employed, including soil, nutrient, pest, and irrigation water management. Data pertaining to Indian conditions has been given to help the reader gain an insight into India's own crop production problems.
